The First Running of HSQR Quick Connection Casing Achieved Success

On October 19. HSQR quick connection casing developed independently by HYST ran successfully in Hongxing Well 1 in Southwest Oil & Gas Field. The first running of this connection was spoken highly by the drilling crew because of easy thread aligning, few thread alternating and quick making-up with more than twice the making-up rate of API BC connection with the same size.

Hongxing Well 1 is complex geologically and has big risk of leaking, thus having strict requirements for casing running. Additionally, this was the first time the drilling crew used this new connection of HYST. These factors imposed great challenges to the operation of casing running.

To ensure the successful running in the well, the technical expert and technical service staff followed up the operation and provided guidance the whole day and night, overcame various difficulties such as unmatched tools on the site and unsmooth operation, and finally accomplished the running of all the casing in just 26 hours with the running depth reaching up to 1349m, creating the record of the biggest running depth and the quickest running rate of Φ473.08mm casing in Sichuan and Chongqing area.
